“The hike was easy. Walking on a lava field was a new experience for us and so very cool! Seeing the steam coming up from 4 year old lava and feeling the heat is pretty surprising. Stopping in Grindavik for lunch at Papa’s was great. Viewing the display of what the town went through was thought provoking. Ending the day with a couple of hours at the Blue Lagoon was just perfect!”

“Breathtaking. Could see solidified lava fields. no fresh red hot lava at the time of our hike but there is still hot air coming out of the rocks below. Lovely experience and good weather. Our hike was about 9km. It felt generally fine to hike without hiking sticks, but some hikers brought their own and felt more comfortable with it. To each his/her own. My guide Hler was very informative and included driving around the ghost town of Grindavík where we could still see effects of the latest eruption. Great reward for ourselves at the blue lagoon after!”
