“Helgi, our tour guide was the highlight of this trip! The cave its self was cool but underwhelming compared to the expectations. It is essentially a room you can walk in and turn around in. Helgi was so knowledgeable and had the greatest sense of humor. He made our excursion well worth the money! We learned so much about the history of Iceland and Katla, all while laughing and making sure we had a great day. Couldn’t recommend Helgi enough!”

“This is a must-do if you're in Iceland. The company was Troll Expeditions, our guide was Stefan, our tour was the "Katla Ice Caves and Super Jeep Tour". We met in Vik and rode went off-road through lava fields in a "super jeep", aka custom Ford van with a huge lift and a really cool built-in tire pressure adjustment system. Stefan was a terrific guide, narrating our ride to the glacier with scientific information and humor. When we disembarked from the van the sight of the Katla Glacier was absolutely breathtaking. If you're from USA and have been to the Grand Canyon, remember how that first view felt! Stefan instructed…”

“The tour was wonderful and we got to hit up several locations of natural beauty (waterfalls, ice caves) within the day. Our tour guide to the ice cave (Eliza) was super knowledgeable about Iceland and our route, and throughout the journey shared information about the country, geological studies in Iceland, and some folklore. Once we were handed over to the super jeep, our next tour guide (Siggi) was equally knowledgeable, helped us safely navigate the Katla ice caves, and was at hand to answer any and all questions the group had. I really enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to others! For those who are more interested in exploring…”

The drive to the cave was exciting and the explanation of the terrain ( and why the tires need the air let out and when lol ) was very interesting! The snow covered landscape made it all worth it for this Florida, US family!”

“Our driver/guide “Snyper” was wonderful! He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging throughout the entire excursion. This is a newer company so we were lucky to have been on the tour ourselves. It turned out being a private tour which really capped off our Iceland experience. We were the only ones in the GlacierIce Cave which was totally awesome. He also made additional stops which was not on the itinerary which made us feel like VIPs. Cruise port pickup was timely. The vehicle was very comfortable. Food/Toilet breaks very convenient.”
