Choose an early Mount Bromo sunrise or quieter sunset tour from Surabaya or Malang. You’ll ride a 4WD jeep across the Sea of Sand, visit viewpoints and the crater, and travel with an English or Malay-speaking guide. Guides such as Aries and Moko are known for friendly help and good photo stops.

“The trip itself was good. However, it was poorly organized. Our driver forgot a group, delaying us over an hour. Then we were stuck in traffic for 2 hours,due a protest (out of their control). On the drop off, the driver got lost and dropped a group off somewhere random. The entire drive that evening the driver was erratic and aggressive. I understand it was a long day, but I wish he would have had better composure.”
Leave Mexico City for a guided hike inside Nevado de Toluca’s extinct volcanic crater. You’ll see the Moon and Sun lagoons, climb to Campanario, and walk with guides such as Bernardo or Bernardino. Transport may be shared with summit groups, so allow extra time.
